The Batman: Intense struggle with anger coming for Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight

“Who the hell are you supposed to be?” a man asks. “I’m vengeance,” Pattinson’s Batman responds after beating him up.

The recent Detective Comics (DC) FanDome event saw glimpses of upcoming films like ‘The Batman’, ‘Flash’ and ‘Black Adam’. Among these, the trailer of ‘The Batman’ has grabbed the fans’ attention the most. Directed by Matt Reeves, this dark superhero film will see Robert Pattinson as Batman.

It’s clear from the trailer that the film is a throwback to DC Comics, and will feature Detective Comics’ early Batman. In the latest movie of the franchise, Robert will be seen in three different avatars of Batman.

Now, Warner Bros. has officially released the film’s synopsis for the movie and while it doesn’t give any new information that isn’t out there already, it does tell that is going to be a brutal standalone story.

Here’s what the synopsis reads. “The Batman is an edgy, action-packed thriller that depicts Batman in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting.”

In the recently released trailer, Batman is seen taking down bad guys as The Riddler is arrested. There’s a shot that shows a question mark drawn in the foam on his coffee. “Fear is a tool,” he says as the bat symbol appears in the night sky over Gotham City. “When the light hits the sky, it’s not just a call. It’s a warning.”

Batman’s entry into DC’s comics was as a spy. At the same time, as Bruce Wayne, he will be seen as the rich man of the city. The character of Batman played by him in this film is also different from other Batman films. This Batman is tough on criminals and does not shy away from punishing. This time around, the angry and ruthless Batman will be seen taking vengeance from the corruption-ridden Gotham City in the film, apart from the Riddler and The Penguin.

“The Batman” will be a nearly three-hour full-on detective story that will form the plot for DC’s Crime Comics. The story begins one Halloween and the film will include a week-long description of the event. The film will release on August 4, 2022.
