Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’s music is bound to be on your playlist for a long time

Music Director: Pritam

Lyrics: Amitabh Bhattacharya

Singers: Arijit Singh, Shilpa Rao, Amit Mishra, Nakash Aziz, Jonita Gandhi and Badshah

With Diwali coming around the weekend, India really needed an album to groove on and dance amidst the lights and DJ. Well.. this album covers it all.

After giving fabulous unforgettable (because of accusations or otherwise) music in Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal, and Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, we have Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.. another music album revolving around plagiarism as well its foot-tapping and emotional songs.

The title song, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, is powerful, with its intense lyrics and the amazing singing of Arijit Singh. Arijit Singh, undoubtedly, still remains the king of melodious songs.

Rumours, which apparently seem to have some kind of relevance around the Bulleya song, can be turned aside, because apart from that, the song is beautiful.

Yes, the background guitar chords seems to be taken from Papa Roach’s Last Resort, the guitar riffs from Iron Maiden’s Genghis Khan(listen from 01:50) and also the song reminds of Kabira from Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani. But, at least the product is worth listening to and not another ‘dead’ song. Amit Trivedi and Shilpa Rao have done a fabulous job in hitting all the right notes in it.

Arijit Singh has lent his melodious and soothing voice to Channa Mereya and it works wonders, it is a sad wedding song and ruffles up a lot of emotions within.

The Breakup Song gives a beautiful fun version of post break up affairs of a girl. The music beats seems like a cross over of Cheap Thrills by Sia and Sean Paul, but overall the music is a tad lower than the rest. Jonita Gandhi is pretty expressive in the song and the song oozes out feelings of post breakup dealings.

Cutie Pie or as it has been called as the Wedding Anthem of 2016 is another hippy track, fun to listen to and dance to. The music arrangement with dholak brings the wedding feel to this track.

And not to sound like a hypocrite, but the whole of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil sounds like another Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani. Does it? Food For Thought!!

With Cutie Pie and The Breakup Song, Nakash Aziz is ready to give a tough competition to Arijit Singh soon. Making his stand in the music industry, Nakash Aziz has been singing one beautiful song after another (Afghan Jalebi, Jabra Fan etc).

Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma fire up every song. Be their trippy dancing in The Breakup Song, the emotion riddled acting in Channa Mereya or the fun-filled comedy and killer moves in Cutie Pie. It’s worth watching the videos of these songs.

Amitabh Bhattacharya has to be specially mentioned and appreciated for his amazing lyrics.

Songs to look for:

Ae Dil Hai MUshkil, Cutie Pie
